#71 What's in season this month, August's Pilates plan and my go to green smoothie recipe.
The Weekly Dose
A huge congratulations for completing 5 weeks of Pilates in July! August’s classes start next week with some real gems to get you moving and grooving in the sunshine. I can’t believe there are now over 100 different Pilates classes ranging from 5-45 minutes so whether you want to follow along with the August challenge, or select your own from the extensive library, I can’t wait to see you on the mat.
In other news, I was honoured to be asked onto Cara Redpath and Ashley Roy’s podcast last week chatting all things Pilates and cultivating a healthy relationship with food. The Joy Pod is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to nutrition and I highly recommend having a listen for real-world, evidenced-based, nutrition, lifestyle and healthcare interventions.
Read on for next week’s Pilates schedule, my go to green smoothie recipe, what’s in season this month and a podcast we highly recommend listening to.

LISTENING | Hidden health risk? The truth about emulsifiers with Dr. Federica Amati. Well worth a listen if you’re interested in learning more about emulsifiers that are present in most ultra processed foods. This is why Lottie and I encourage our clients to consume whole foods as much as possible.
THIS WEEK’S RECIPE: My Go-To Green Smoothie
A refreshing smoothie, perfect on these warmer days. Smoothies can be a great way to pack in some extra veggies (trust me, you can’t taste the greens!) but in order to keep you satiated and satisfied for longer, it’s important to include a source of healthy fats and protein alongside the delicious fruit. Avocado or nut butter are a great source of healthy fats and we love this protein powder for its simple ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
1 handful spinach/kale
1/4 avocado
1 large handful frozen/fresh mango and pineapple
Squeeze of lime juice
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 scoop Form Nutrition protein powder
A splash of water (add to desired consistency)
DIRECTIONS
Simply place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz!
NOTES
Optional additions: a few fresh mint leaves
CLIENT WORDS:
“Working with Lottie has been a gift in so many ways. She is incredibly kind, supportive, empathetic and patient. I felt safe to be open and vulnerable and she never once made me feel judged or misunderstood.
I feel more at peace around food than I have in years. The "food noise" has quieted and I give myself more grace than I ever have. I have so much more awareness about my thoughts and behaviours as they relate to food and I'm learning to let go of perfection.
I have a greater understanding of nutrition and what elements make a balanced, nutrient-dense meal, and whereas I used to strive for rigidity and routine, I now seek diversity in my diet, and to include as many ingredients as possible to support my gut health.”
